# Connect WooCommerce to WhatsApp for order confirmation

Every new **WooCommerce** order gets an official WhatsApp message with buttons, and the reply changes the **actual order status** in your store.

## What you get

- **REST API keys** from your WooCommerce settings.
- **The webhook registers itself** after connecting.
- **A real status change** in WooCommerce based on the reply.
- **Order details in the message**: name, items, total and address.

## How to connect WooCommerce

1. In WordPress: WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API → Add key, with Read/Write permission.
2. Copy the Consumer Key (starts with `ck_`) and Consumer Secret (starts with `cs_`).
3. In ConfirmX: open Settings → E-Commerce Integrations → Add Integration and choose **WooCommerce**.
4. Enter your store URL, Consumer Key and Consumer Secret, then click Connect Store.

## Turn on order confirmation

After connecting, the fastest way to start confirming: open Workflows, choose Create from Template, pick E-commerce Order Confirmation, select the integration and your WhatsApp number, review the flow, then click Click to Activate. The full walkthrough is in [setting up WhatsApp order confirmation](https://confirmx.net/en/guides/whatsapp-order-confirmation-setup/).

## How does the order status come back?

The Update Order Status node changes the order’s actual status in WooCommerce: Pending, On Hold, Processing, Completed, Cancelled, Refunded or Failed.

> If you add a note
>
> It is written to the order’s customer note, so write something the customer can see.

## Good to know

- If a plugin changes statuses on your store, WooCommerce may keep a different status from the one chosen.
- The connection works with new orders. The Sync Orders button imports older orders without messaging them.

## Questions

### Does the key need Read/Write?

Yes, so ConfirmX can register the webhook and change the order status.

### Do I need a WordPress plugin?

No. The connection uses the REST API keys WooCommerce already has.
