# How to set up WhatsApp order confirmation, step by step

This guide covers **setting it up** in ConfirmX. For why WhatsApp comes before the phone call and what a good message looks like, read [WeSell’s order confirmation guide](https://wesell.world/en/guides/whatsapp-order-confirmation/).

## Before you start

- **A connected WhatsApp number**: Settings → WhatsApp Accounts → Connect Account → Connect with Meta.
- **A connected store**: [EasyOrders](https://confirmx.net/en/integrations/easyorders/), [Shopify](https://confirmx.net/en/integrations/shopify/), [WooCommerce](https://confirmx.net/en/integrations/woocommerce/), Google Sheets or WeSell.
- **An approved template**: when you connect a number, ConfirmX submits a ready-made Arabic confirmation template called `confirmx_ta2ked` to Meta, with three buttons: confirm, cancel and customer service. Check on the Templates page that it shows APPROVED.

## The fast way: a ready-made flow

1. Open Workflows and choose **Create from Template**.
2. Pick **E-commerce Order Confirmation**.
3. Select the integration and WhatsApp number, then click Create Workflow. The flow starts inactive.
4. Open it, review it, then click **Click to Activate**.

## The manual way: for full control

1. In Workflows, click New Workflow, name it, and choose Create & Open Editor.
2. On the trigger card, use the Switch trigger type icon until it reads **New Order**, and pick the integration.
3. Add a **Send Template** node, choose the number and template, and drag order fields onto its variables, such as `order.customer.name` and `order.total`.
4. Add a **Button Response** node and connect it. Buttons are read from the template.
5. From each button, add an **Update Order Status** node and choose the status.
6. Optionally add **Send Message** to thank the customer. The button tap opens the 24-hour window, so free-form text is allowed.
7. Save and activate.

## Test with a real order

The Test button in the editor is a dry run that sends nothing. To check it works, place a real order with your own number, tap a button, and look at the order.

## What a reply does in your store

| Store | What happens |
| --- | --- |
| **EasyOrders** | The order status changes |
| **WooCommerce** | The order status changes |
| **Shopify** | A tag on the order, without changing its status |
| **WeSell** | WhatsApp status and notes on the order |
| **Google Sheets** | The status is written to your status column |

## If the customer doesn’t reply, or types instead

- **No reply**: the flow keeps waiting and expires after 24 hours by default.
- **Typed text instead of a tap**: fallback conditions decide what happens for text, images or location.
- **Buttons match by label**, so review the flow if you change the template.

## Questions

### Do I have to create a template?

No. ConfirmX submits a ready-made one to Meta when you connect your number. If it is rejected, create your own.

### Do older orders get messages?

No. The flow starts with new orders only.

### Can I message customers when an order ships?

Not from the store integrations at the moment. Flows start when an order is created.
